Not yet Friday but in preparation for this coming Friday, and courtesy of http://funcraftsandrecipes.com/, here are my answers to this week's questions:
#1. What do you drink to rehydrate in the heat or after working out?
Water, water, water. I've never liked Gatorade or any of those sports drinks. I'm a pure water fan.
#2. What do you eat to help boost or create energy?
Dried fruit, especially dates or prunes. Usually when I need a boost, I really listen to what my body is craving and go with it, so I may have some dried fruit, I may have oatcakes and peanut butter, I may have a lump of cheese.
#3. What’s the healthiest snack you eat?
See above. Prunes, oatcakes and peanut butter, yogurt and fresh blueberries.
#4. Share a recipe or instructions for your ideal three course meal.
I rarely eat a three course meal - that sounds like so much food! Having said that, a good three course meal that won't leave me stuffed to the gills is Japanese food. Start out with some miso soup, followed by sushi or sashimi, or a noodle dish, and followed by a little green tea ice cream or sorbet.
Spicy Tuna Roll:
4 cups sushi rice (ie. already cooked and mixed with the vinegar and other ingredients)
4 sheets nori (dried seaweed)
1 Tbsp white sesame seeds
1/2 pound fresh maguro (raw tuna) - for this you need the good quality stuff
1 Tbsp mayonnaise
1/2 tsp chili powder
Chop tuna and mix with mayonnaise and chili powder. Put a nori sheet on top of a bamboo mat.
Spread sushi rice on top of the nori. Sprinkle sesame seed on top of the sushi rice. Place the tuna mixture lengthwise on the rice. Roll up the bamboo mat, pressing forward to shape the sushi into a cylinder. Press the bamboo mat firmly and remove it from the sushi. Cut the rolled sushi into bite-sized pieces.
Makes 4 rolls.
Now the rolling does take a bit of practice but once you learn how to make your own sushi, you'll be surprised by how easy it is.

I keep seeing commercials for dried prunes but have always been afraid to try them due to the potential...er...side effects.
Sounds like you eat the way all of us should eat, but few of us do. good for you!
I've never heard of putting mayo in sushi. Does it really need it?
Skeet - I would love to say I eat this well all the time but I'd be lying. I do love Japanese food though. The spicy rolls are the only sushi I know of that really use mayo but they are good.
I buy bags of dried prunes. They are so yummy. I don't feel like I am snacking in a bad way by eating fruit.
