Sunday not Friday but here we go with this week's answers to the questions posted weekly at Fun, Crafts and Recipes.
#1. Potato Chips. What kind of chips are your favorite?
Not a big potato chip eater as I fall prey to the "once the bag is open, I can't stop" so I rarely buy them. I do love good old Walker's Crisps from England though, especially in Prawn Cocktail or Cheese and Onion.
#2. What’s your favorite thing to dip chips in?
We're not much for dips in England so I dip potato chips even less often than I eat them!
#3. What’s your favorite way to eat a baked potato?
Baked in the oven (not the microwave) until it's nice and soft but with a really good skin. If it's cooked well enough, you just need a little butter. And yes, I eat the skin.
#4. How do you make mashed potatoes?
Considering my dad's a potato farmer, I hardly ever buy potatoes here in the US. Occasionally I make mashed potatoes though - the way my mum does. Hand mashed with just a little butter. NO cream or milk and no beating until they're all soft and gloopy. Just good and simple.

Simple is sometimes the best way to enjoy many foods! No need to drown anything in dips and condiments.
The skins of the potato are so delish!
I also fall prey to the "once the bag is open, I can't stop" syndrome. It's really too bad, because I really like chips!
Lynne - but at least we realize this about ourselves and so avoid having them in the house altogether.
Last night we had a particularly savory dinner which left me craving something sweet. So we went out for a scoop of frozen custard rather than buy a huge bag of something that would then be binged on. Frozen custard may not be the healthiest thing but at least I could portion control it.
Fun cooking blog. I love potatoes...well just carbs in general! :)
Very interesting that your dad is a potato farmer. Is he in England? Your mashed potatoes sound yummy.
Yes he is in England. He's worked on the same farm (vegetable and arable crops) since leaving school at 15. It means my family over there always has a great supply of fresh vegetables that he can bring home.
I eat the potato skins, too. I didn't realize it was so rare!
I eat too many potato chips, too, "once the bag is open."
(I read that some companies put something in snack foods to make people want to keep eating them.)
