Four Foods on Friday 50

Here are this week’s four questions.

#1. Pasta. How do you tell when it’s done? Do you cook on medium or high?

I usually cook pasta purely by the clock on a medium heat.

#2. Deep frying. What kind of oil do you use?

Don't deep fry. I know that may be a sin to admit here in the South but I just don't do it.

#3. Grilling. Do you grill on foil or directly on the grill?

Grilling here in the US means on the BBQ right? As opposed to the grill pan on the oven in England. We don't have a BBQ. Wow, I'm not being helpful at all today, am I?

#4. Share a recipe that involves cooking something two different ways.Example, for lasagna you might fry the meat and bake the whole dish.

How about my Mum's Boiled Fruit Cake? Boil it all up, then bake it! The result is a wonderfully moist fruitcake as opposed to the butt-of-all-jokes doorstop.

I may actually try that fruit cake recipe. You're right, everyone thinks there's one in the world that's been passed around for generations! LOL

I actually never tried fruit cake, probably because of all the jokes like you say. This recipe looks great!

That sounds like a super simple recipe. I think I will try it. It sounds like a good one to have as a holiday tradition.

My father loves fruit cake but he's picky about them. I might have to try this on him.
Thanks for playing FFOF!
